Most security architects protect revenue. This one protects a mission.
An international non-profit, founded more than a century ago and now active in over 35 countries, is looking for an IT Security Architect. The role takes its security from operational firefighting to a deliberate, organisation-wide architecture. You’ll join a team of ten under the infrastructure lead and become the person who sets the standard.
What you’ll own
The security and service architecture across systems, infrastructure, data and cloud services, shaped around the organisation’s digital transformation
Security standards, guidelines and controls, and making sure they’re followed
Risk, vulnerability management and incident response, building real cyber resilience
Complex infrastructure projects alongside internal teams and external providers, with some hands-on work when it’s needed
What you’ll bring
Several years in IT security architecture or a comparable senior role
The ability to turn resilience requirements into architecture that works in practice
Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure or GCP) and change management
Very good German (solid B level as a minimum) and English, written and spoken
A genuine connection to a values-led, faith-based mission
Certifications such as CISSP, CISM or ISO 27001, and NGO or multicultural experience, are a plus
The package
€63,000–€69,000 on a collective pay scale, plus an annual special payment, a company pension, 31 days’ holiday, a 39-hour week and up to 60% remote work. Expect around two days a week in Bensheim (Bergstraße), with roughly 10% travel, sometimes international. Permanent contract.
Please note: backgrounds in the defence or arms industry aren’t a fit for this organisation. When you apply, include your employment references (Arbeitszeugnisse) and certificates with your CV.
